What is the cost to register on this site?
Nothing. There are no registration fees for buyers or sellers.
How much does it cost for sellers to place listings?
Multi-Ad plans cost as little as $6.00 per listing, per month, if you have multiple units to sell. (Hauling companies also qualify for Multi-Ad plans!) Otherwise, a single listing is $25 per month, or $50 for 3 months. If you have several – or many – pieces of equipment to sell, you should consider one of our Multi-Ad plans. There are no long term commitments, and with each listing you get virtually unlimited copy, up to 12 photos and free Video, too. Detailed cost specifics are explained here.
Will you help me with my ad?
Absolutely! While this is an easy-to-use, do-it-yourself website, we're always glad to help. We're probably one of the few "full service" advertising sites on the web. We can start your account, set up your ad, upload the pictures and video, and take your payment over the phone. Just give us a call or send us an email, and we'll do the rest.
If you are on a Multi-Ad plan, we will gladly manage your account on a monthly basis, so your listings are always current. You won't have to do a thing. Call us, and we'll explain how that works.
I'm trying to place an ad, but my pictures won't upload. Why not?
This usually happens because your picture files are too large. While the site automatically scales down pictures to fit, some are just too large for the site to handle. If you need to downsize your pictures, click here for a free online picture resizer. We recommend you set the largest dimension to 1,280 pixels for optimal size.
Is this site secure?
Yes. Your transactions are protected by the latest encryption technology. All payments to TrashTrucksOnline go through PayPal. We use PayPal to process your credit cards, too, even if you don't have a PayPal account. PayPal is safe, secure, and the most accepted form of payment on the internet.
How do I find what I'm looking for?
You have several options:
- In addition to a Keyword Search at the top of the home page, you can search specific criteria using our price slider and drop down options.
- We offer an Advanced Search page for you to further refine your search criteria.
- Click on any category and you can browse all listings within that category. You can also sort the category many different ways to make your search easy.
Can I save items to revisit later?
Yes. You can maintain your own "favorites" list within your account. Each listing on our site has an "add to favorites" link. Simply click that link and that item will be added to your favorites list.
What if I can't find what I'm looking for?
You can set up search filters within your account area. Our site will then screen all new listings as they are placed on the site, and if an item is listed that meets your filter (search) criteria, we will automatically send you an email notification.
How do buyers and sellers communicate with each other?
Sellers are required to list their phone number with their listings. That's the easiest way. Many also provide their email addresses within the listing. There is also a "Contact Seller" link on every listing page that allows you to send a message directly through the website. The seller will then be notified by email with your questions. The seller can either reply to your message by direct email, or log in to their account and reply through our onsite messaging system.
